Home and Away - Images of New Zealanders in World War 2

David Filer

Notes
In World war 2, for the second time this century NZ committed itself and it's young men and women to a world-wide conflict. At home also, people of all ages joined in a massive crusade to boost production, provide support for the forces overseas - and to defend their very shores if necessary.
Home and Away vividly recalls the "period of hostilities" from 1939-45. More than 230 photgraphs, many never previously published, tell the story of the sailors, soldiers, airmen, prisoners of war, women in uniform, and the home front.
